Work in Aerospace
APPF Inc. is extremely proud to have been involved in numerous aerospace projects. We have been involved in prototyping as well actively involved in building sub assemblies.
We assisted Vertigo Inc. in the development of component parts for their AirBeam™ Shelter Systems. Vertigo Inc. approached us with a very specific design in mind, needing a manufacturer that could quickly complete the project with the necessary high level of quality assurance. APPF Inc. is very proud to have been selected as a sub assembly supplier for this project.
These AirBeams can be formed in a multitude of different shapes allowing for many unique uses in military, aerospace and commercial applications ranging from the world's largest rapid deployment aviation hangar for the US Army, to marine docking systems for the US Navy's new High Speed Connector.
NASA had the desire to redesign the original Constellation Orion project style space capsules to engage in new missions to the moon. APPF fabricated the landing air bag assemblies under the direction of Irvin Aerospace engineering staff.
Over the course of several months our company worked to develop these airbag systems. The design is a unique dual stage impact reaction airbag. The first stage is to deflate rapidly upon impact in order to reduce the G force of rapid deceleration. The second stage will absorb the remaining force without allowing the capsule to touch the ground directly.
Orion's design will borrow its shape from the capsules of the past, but takes advantage of 21st century technology in computers, electronics, life support, propulsion and heat protection systems.

Airborne Systems and Irvine Aerospace selected APPF to fabricate a portion of a very specialized aeronautical project for NASA when they needed a company with experience, a high level of quality control, who could meet their deadline.
